Mobility SVM Trucks
By: Tred Barta
Facts talk with a loud clear voice – Two years ago I had a spinal infarction (stroke) caused by Waldenstrom’s blood cancer rendering me paralyzed from my chest down T-4 Asia A complete. I will spare you the boo hoo hoo me, as all of us who are crippled, disabled, paralyzed or have cancer know how tough life is and can be. Most of you know of my TV show now in its 9th year on NBC sports, “The Best and Worst of Tred Barta,” or perhaps my fundraising tournaments, or perhaps from my light world tackle fishing, or perhaps from four decades of outdoor riding etc, etc, you also know I bow to no man or to any sponsor – never have, never will! I’ve decided to hurry up dying or hurry up living, I choose the latter. The net, it’s all about two things, attitude and independence, nothing else, of course the support from those who love you and in my case belief in god and blessed with the greatest wife. Mobility SVM has saved my life in many ways and has enabled me to do the things I want to do and have done my entire life, hunt fish, ride horses, ski, scuba dive, and be in the great outdoors.
WELL, HOW DOES A MOBILITY SVM TRUCK DO ALL OF THIS, READ BELOW
The Barta family has wasted ungodly amounts of money with mommy van ramps, swivel seats, cranes to pick up wheel chairs, of which all of them not only didn’t do the real deal, but were not reliable and at the end of the day are not fit or well thought out for the real sportsman. Of course, in Tred Barta’s world, if it’s not fit for the sportsman, it’s not fit for life period.
I’ve always driven a truck, need a truck, and need the bed of the truck for 500 lb. blue fin tuna to bow harvested elk. I need the bed for garbage at the ranch, for the transporting of manure and hay. [Do I need to say more?] Just because I’m paralyzed, I now need to drive a van – Bullpucky, NO WAY!
FACTS TALK WITH A LOUD CLEAN VOICE – Below are the reasons Mobility SVM are superior to any product on the market and I’m their world wide spokesman. Also you will see the deficiency of experience of life in the mommy van we bought and now have for sale, as well as the Bruno and Braun modified truck like vehicles which are also for sale that ended up totally not up to task. Don’t throw good money after bad. Take me at my word and my bond examines, scrutinize, and analyze what I tell you about Mobility SVM.
THE FACTS MY FRIENDS
The safest place for spinal cord injured person is #1 in your wheel chair with your custom seat or in bed. With that being said, how do you live an active life in the outdoors, spending as much time in your custom wheel chair? Okay, let’s go to work!
#1 Mobility SVM lift allows you to transfer into the truck without any transfer. You roll into the lift platform by staying in your electric chair or manual chair. Your chair then automatically locks in place with perfect placement of your hand controls for brake and throttle. Why is this important – Let’s use me as an example.
Using the Bruno swivel driving seat and truck bed crane to transfer my wheel chair in my old truck, I was exposed to the following problems.
No good #1 – My pants often pull partly off during the transfer from the swivel chair to my regular chair, which is embarrassing.
No good #2 – I keep my urine bag in the front compartment of my primary wheel chair, my supplies are no good to me in the back of the truck. Further, when I made a transfer, my urine bag dangles below me, very unsightly.
No good #3 – My colostomy supplies, wipes, patches, and meds are stored in the back of my primary wheel chair, they are no good to me in the back of the truck.
No good #4 – When I make a transfer from wheel chair to Braun swivel seat, I can’t get my specialized cushion under me, a bed sore can literally kill me, by the way this is what killed Christopher Reeve (superman).
No good #5 – STEP BY STEP, NO GOOD – The Bruno system makes no sense. In your swivel seat, you have no supplies, your primary wheel chair is lifted into the back of pickup truck bed. Now you can’t use the bed, your wheel chair is open to rain, snow, ice, mud, etc… Your chair is wet or freezing when you retrieve it.
I carry a glock 45 caliber ACP pistol in my primary chair at all times, I have a carry permit or sometimes I carry my pistol exposed. What good is the pistol to me in the back of the truck? It’s also out of my control, which is illegal. My $3000 seat cushion must be removed every time I get in the truck, my medical supplies need to be removed, all zippers on pouches must be closed, and of course my wallet, cash, passport, etc… must be removed, including my cell phone and phonebook. Now I get if I was a woman, I could have a large, pink pocket book, but I’m not.
The functions of many Braun and Bruno swivel seats and wheel chair crane lifts are operated by electrical cords and control boxes which consistently get caught in the chair system and moving parts, which cause them to be severed. The chain gearbox often breaks and four wheel drive gearbox on a rough road etc… Your primary chair rocks back and forth in the bed as it is not secured. On rough roads the crane swings back and forth unless secured by a non crippled person and if not will destroy itself. Hey everybody I live in Eagle Colorado. Everything we do is on rough roads.
There has been an attempt by many companies to make a claim that shell bed camper tops on a hydraulic electric cylinder may protect your chair in the truck. Try this in a 40 to 50 mph wind, good luck buddy, it’s useless!
Mobility SVM System, The Real Deal Baby!
1. Immediate, no transfer, transfer into the truck - System is true truck grade and flawless, almost flawless, I can break anything!
2.Everything on your wheel chair goes with you into the truck, your med supplies, pistol, wallet, passport, cell phone, sunglasses, etc…..
3.In and out in under 3 minutes – shopping, multiple stops, and multiple hunting and fishing sports. ABSOLUTE BREEZE!
4.I can keep my cowboy hat on during the transfer, don’t have to take it off. I LIKE THAT!
5.LISTEN UP, 100% FULL ACCESS TO BACK SEAT! This is huge, by entering the Mobility SVM lift front wise, I can access my fly rods, fly case, rifle, bow, emergency medical supplies, anything at the same level. This is a life changer, period. Hey everyone, I can now travel with a suitcase, get it in and out myself. - incredible!
6.Mobility SVM lift will adjust to uneven ground by actually lifting the truck up to level where ramp is as even as possible. Take it from me, this is a deal maker when you see it.
7.Mobility SVM system – No cords, no cables, and a cordless key system operates the lift in rain or snow from 50 to 75 ft. away. A convenient switch is on your door when you’re on the ramp. ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS!
8.You or no one else will ever know you’re in a specialized vehicle. When the door is closed, you can’t tell, but honestly, I don’t care. When socializing in the truck, I often open the door part way to receive hugs and have full contact with the person I’m visiting with. Who can turn down a hug from the opposite sex?
9.SERVICE, SERVICE, SERVICE – Since your Mobility SVM dealer, for the most part is a Chevy or a GM dealer that means they have the resources not only on your Mobility SVM modification, but on your American truck also. This can’t be ignored.
10.Mobility SVM trucks have less moving parts and all heavy built real components made in the United States of America - Up to the job of real living and the real outdoors of any other manufacturer.
11.CLEARANCE, CLEARANCE, CLEARANCE, CLEARANCE – There is a reason why the American truck has prospered and was invented. A modified vehicle, modified truck, must have 100% maximum clearance or use in 6 inches of snow to 2 ft of snow/6 inches of mud to 2 ft of mud or gulley’s across 4 wheel drive roads etc…. If you don’t have clearance, you will bottom out and get hung up. When I first saw the Mobility SVM truck and realized that you get 100% of clearance of any truck that any able bodied person would buy. Mobility SVMi had me at the word hello. Many inferior competitions of Mobility SVM give away this clearance. NO GOOD!
Mommy Vans - My opinion-my goodness, I hope this does not offend anyone, but to me they are as useless as tits on a bull. They have no clearance, no balls, or no place for the blood of fish and animals. The rear wheel in the ramp is extremely dangerous in snow, ice, and for women pushing husband and boyfriend into the van in high heels. Mobility SVM gladly gives the van market to their competitors if you can call them that. Men and cool women drive trucks, especially American trucks.
In closing, as a T-4 paraplegic, you may sense just a touch of anger in my writing and it’s true. I’m tired of companies charging the impaired an arm and a leg for equipment that is not tested and applicable to the great outdoors. I guess you get my point. I have wasted thousands of dollars on stuff that doesn’t work (not sure what this is suppose to be) by people who never got their hands dirty as an able bodied person, no less being impaired. We deserve more.
Mobility SVM is the real deal, made and serviced in America. It’s changed my life, it can change yours!
For a complete presentation, go to TredBarta.com or MobilitySVM.com, dealer contacts, inventories, and specials.
It is my humble opinion that in my case that Mobility SVM is absolutely useless without my personal belief in Jesus Christ, our savior, as well as family and friends who love me.
My wife, Annie, is the true hero of my attitude and accomplishments. Without Annie I would not be alive today. Every man, in my opinion, is only as good as the woman by his side. I truly believe that this natural realization of life is a huge essence of what life is all about, especially your children. God bless America and God bless Mobility SVM trucks.
-Tred Barta
"The above is written by me, not Mobility SVM and reflects my honor, my code, and my opinion. If anyone does not like it – they can suck eggs. Oh, by the way, I am only kidding, you can suck eggs anyway."
"Why would you drive a mini-van when you could drive a truck? For years, wheelchair users have not had the option to drive a 4 x 4 truck. Mobility SVM has changed the playing field and it is not level. Now you can have a rugged vehicle that can take you comfortably down the road or across an open field. We have engineered a lift system that will put you behind the wheel of one of the most capable, adaptable vehicles on the road today. Whether you need to haul a load of rock, tow a boat, or just feel safe driving down a snow covered road, a Mobility SVM pickup truck is for you."
