I heard a lot of negative comments lately about game wardens, not only in Colorado but in many other states. A game warden is a public servant paid by us, I say that in a honorable way. If you do not break the law, all a game warden can say to you is have a good day, shake your hand and be polite. If he is not polite, you have his job on a platter. I have found that game wardens love their job, are here to help you and if you ask for it, are a wealth of knowledge, in general, they love hunting and fishing and would like to see you succeed.
My thoughts on Wicked Tuna
Submitted by Tred Barta on Mon, 05/07/2012 - 18:37
Wicked TUNA show on Nag Geo: The language used on the VHF radio, using the f-BOMB word that supposedly "googan's" and recreational fisherman must hear with their families on board is a disgusting portrail of commercial fisherman everywhere. Telling recreational fisherman that they own a spot which they have recently anchored on, is not true and is not legal. Threatening to cut off peoples lines, cut their anchor lines and meet them back at the dock for a fist fight. Let me ask everyone, how tough would these guys be in front of the crew of the deadliest catch?
A Big Salute...

Every once in a while all of us who are lucky to be married to wonderful women should wake up and tell our wives that they are the most beautiful, sexy, intelligent, curvaceous, heroic people in our lives. Now I know that I'm married to the greatest woman in the world, the most honorable, the most hard working and the very reason my life has value and is worth living. Daniel is way down on the scale, all he does is steal my stuff. All kidding aside, the institution of marriage is something that I cherish.
Day After Surgery
Submitted by Tred Barta on Fri, 04/13/2012 - 15:31
When I opened my eyes after surgery, I still had all my fingers, ALL RIGHT! Back at the ranch in bed, I have to go through the process of rehab and get through the pain, that's just part of the deal. I had a chance to cheer up a lot of people at the hospital. I felt like I did some good and it makes me feel good. When I opened my eyes after surgery, I saw my best friend in the world, my wife Anni. I want to thank you all for your support I hope I'm asleep until tomorrow. Good night. Everybody have a good weekend!
Surgery Today
Submitted by Anni on Wed, 04/11/2012 - 08:58
Good morning, report for duty over. Trying to sneak out and shoot some prairie dogs before leaving for the hospital. Anni already caught me......with one and said it was unsanitary. Daniel brought my horse Badger up and he slobbered on me, and I slept with Ahi last night. I'm washing in this soap that smells like a little light in the loafers. Have to the be at the hospital @1. Thanks everyone for your support.
Pre-Operation Checklist
Submitted by Tred Barta on Tue, 04/10/2012 - 08:52
Gorgeous beautiful blue day. I'm going through my pre-operation check list. 1. remove block 45 cap with 2 clips. 2 remove k bar, whistle, pocket knife, tourniquet, and fire starting materials from wheelchair. 3. Remove 22 ammunition from right pocket, and 410 shotgun shells from left pocket.
Have small bottle with cap I was carrying to collect my right finger if they had to cut it off. Was going to pickle it and use it for strip baits, none thinks its funny, Anni took it away.

Happy Easter!
Submitted by Tred Barta on Fri, 04/06/2012 - 16:17
Happy Easter to everyone, and Happy Passover to those in the Jewish faith. Although when I think of rabbits, I think of a .410 3" #6 shot, I would like to give all rabbits a Passover this Holiday. Let none of us forget that Easter is a celebration of Jesus Crucifixion and his raise to the Heavens and he gave his life for us. Let us all be thankful for all that we have, lets go out of our way to help someone over the weekend! Thanks
Ahi "The Great Mountain Dog" strikes again..
Submitted by Tred Barta on Wed, 04/04/2012 - 12:56
Ahi "The Great Mountain Dog" strikes again. The mighty ground squirrel took off from the barn, did not use any evasive zig zags but tried to out run the highly athletic, good looking longbow ranch dog. At 32 yards and 4 inches from the initial run, Ahi had the ground squirrel in his jaws squeezing out every inch of life. Daniel and I yelled "Good Job Ahi!" this is the stuff "Legends" are made of. Ahi is now under my desk, proud as a peacock.
Thanks Everyone!

Thank you everyone for your wishes on my 60th b-day. I had a wonderful day, family, friends, cheese fondue etc. Proceeding with operation on my hand on on the 11th, it's not pretty but it has to be done. Ahi the ranch dog nails ground squirrel on full fun witnessed by Daniel. It was a brutal attack that ended up with the death of the vermin. Feeding Ahi new buffalo parts dog food, he is taking on wolf like traits. The speaking engagement in Denver went well, Outdoor Buddies is a great organization. Time for some hard work, I hope everyone does there best today, including your kids.
